Michael R. Goldberg


Michael R. Goldberg, BA, MA, MSW, RSW is a Toronto-based, Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Behaviour Consultant with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of settings, including private practice, schools, camps, and clinical organizations. His practice focuses on individuals with complex mental health diagnoses, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and learning exceptionalities.

Michael offers psychotherapy and behavioural support that draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, with a particular emphasis on helping clients manage anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. His integrative and person-responsive style prioritizes practical strategies and therapeutic insight to support meaningful growth and improved daily functioning.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s in Critical Disability Studies from York University, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto.

As the founder of Counselling and Behaviour Services, he provides in-person and virtual psychotherapy, parental coaching, behavioural consultation, staff training, and organizational support to both individuals and systems navigating complex challenges.

In addition to his clinical work, Michael has served as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at York University since 2013 and is a Co-Founder and Research Investigator with the Alliance of Heroes Research Collective, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on identity, mental health, and resilience. His clinical training includes placements with the Adult Neurodevelopmental Services at CAMH and Youth Psychiatry and Professional Leadership at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Michael is known for his thoughtful, collaborative approach and his deep commitment to fostering inclusive, strengths-based mental health care.
